Lea Michele vacations in a swimsuit with Jonathan Groff

Actress Lea Michele is on vacation with her best friend, companion Joy and Broadway star Jonathan Groff. Michele posted a series of stunning photos on Instagram of the duo’s trip. Michele is seen hiking, swimming and enjoying the scenery with Groff, and in one photo she is in a swimsuit. The two go back, first playing on Broadway spring awakening together in 2006, then reunited for Joy. “He’s my best friend in the whole world – in fact, it’s fair to say that I didn’t understand the concept until I met him. He’s been through more ups and downs with me than anyone else. He’s like a brother, and I love him like crazy,” she once said. How does Michele stay so fit while staying so busy? While some people’s wellness routine only focuses on diet or exercise, Michele says she focuses on both. She says We WeeklyI think a large majority of well-being comes from what we put into our bodies, but you always have to train. You have to do both.”

Despite Michele’s busy schedule, she says she always makes time to exercise. She tells Us Weekly, “I try to work out at least twice a week. More than that, having an active lifestyle is incredibly important to me. Walking as much as possible and staying active whether or not I can attend a SoulCycle class. If I can’t then I’ll make sure I can hike or something.”

Michele tells Us Weekly she loves working out with her best friend and classmate Joy star, Becca Tobin. Michele says they both love taking hot yoga classes. “We both love hot yoga. We do a lot of hot yoga together.”

When it comes to her diet, Michele tells We Weekly that she doesn’t eat junk food or anything unhealthy. “Everything I put in my body is to nourish and fuel my body. I have always thought that food is fuel, so what you eat is going to help your body. So I don’t eat junk food, I don’t don’t eat processed foods I only keep fresh, healthy ingredients at home so I can feel my best.

Michele tells Us Weekly that she likes to drink lemon water in the morning. “The first thing I do when I wake up is pour a tall glass of lemon water to really flush my system and start the day off right,” she says. “How much to drink and when depends on each individual. The general rule at this stage among physicians is to drink to thirst. While there are guidelines for hydration before, during, and after exercise, watch and listen to your body as the best indicator when you need hydration,” explains the Mayo Clinic. In other words: “Rather than planning arbitrary amounts of fluids during your workout, your body is the best indicator of when you need hydration. Drink when you’re thirsty.”
