Mangaluru: St. Agnes CBSE School Recognizes International Yoga Day

Mangaluru, June 22: St Agnes CBSE School recognized International Yoga Day on June 21, 2022 with great fervor and enthusiasm. The day began with listening to relaxing music during the morning assembly for meditation followed by a short prayer, the reading of the benefits and importance of yoga by the sixth graders, which made them helped to connect with their inner selves.
A short program was conducted with a prayer service followed by the recitation of yoga mantras. Principal Sr Maria Gracilda AC, Administrator Sr Edna Furtado AC, Vice-Principal Sr Lenita AC and Coordinator Sr Sweedal Fernandes AC inaugurated the program by lighting the lamp.
Ahana Adiga, the National Level Performer of Yoga Grade VI, performed different yoga postures as per government protocol of Ayush Ministry of India.
A unique rhythmic yoga performance was presented by the 9th grade students.
Grade I to X students performed various asanas with the help of their yoga instructor who also explained the importance of these asanas simultaneously. The boundless peace of doing the asanas was amply visible on the faces of the students. This encouraged the students to practice yoga regularly in order to stay fit and improve their concentration.
The teachers also took an active part in performing different asanas which helped them calm their minds and bodies. The teachers in charge of this activity were Sumitra, Vijetha and the PE trainers.
The management, the administrator and the director wish everyone a happy international yoga day.
