Nassau County District Attorney: Garden City massage therapist charged with forcible touching and unlicensed surgery

Sut-Ho Leung Charged with Forced Touching, Sexual Abuse and 14 Counts of Unauthorized Practice
MINEOLA, NY – Acting Nassau County District Attorney Joyce A. Smith has announced a New Hyde Park man has been charged with inappropriately touching clients while performing unlicensed massage therapy in a Garden City spa.
Sut-Ho Leung (also known as “Mike”), 60, of New Hyde Park, was arraigned today before Judge Robert Bogle on 14 counts of unauthorized exercise of the profession (one crime E), two counts of forced contact (one misdemeanor A), and two counts of third degree sexual abuse (one misdemeanor B). Leung faces a maximum sentence of up to 4 years in prison for each of the 14 counts of unauthorized practice of a profession. The defendant is due to return to court on November 12, 2021.
“A relaxing massage became threatening and disturbing when this accused allegedly used his massage table as a means of victimizing clients,” Acting District Attorney Smith said. “The NCDA believes there may be other victims and encourages anyone who thinks they may have been a victim of the accused to call the Special Victims Bureau at (516) 571-1266.”
According to the indictment and investigation, on January 2, 2021, Leung, whose wife is believed to be the owner of O Spa, located at 927 Franklin Avenue in Garden City, met the victim for a scheduled massage. During the massage, Leung allegedly ran his hands over the victim’s shoulders and inappropriately touched his chest. The victim tried to cover herself, but Leung reportedly continued to touch the victim. Leung was practicing unlicensed at the time of the incident.
Leung was arrested by the Garden City Police Department on January 6, 2021.
In early March 2021, an undercover operation was launched in O Spa by the NCDA and the Garden City Police Department. During the operation, captured on videotape, Leung was seen continuing to perform massage without a license and was arrested on March 9, 2021.
The NCDA and the Garden City Police Department continued to investigate and identified at least 10 additional victims who received a massage from Leung, who practiced without a license, between November 21, 2020 and January 1, 2021. Leung is said to have touched inappropriately the chest of one of them. additional victims on December 6, 2020.

The charges are only charges and the accused is presumed innocent until found guilty.
