New York-trained yogi brings Power Yoga to Cork (to house/techno beats)

A New York-trained yoga teacher will bring a unique twist to Marina Market’s soothing stretch later this month.

A Pop-Up Power Yoga class will take place in the venue’s Graffiti Room on Thursday, June 23 at 6:30 p.m. – and all to the sound of house and techno beats.

Johanna King graduated as a Power Vinyasa yoga teacher in Brooklyn, New York in 2019. Last year, she founded The Joga Club “where health and wellness go to clubbing” – a community space where ” friends and future friends are invited to come and get physically stronger, move together and let go and enjoy the good music”.

“Primarily based in Limerick, Clare and Tipperary since then, June 23rd will be my first pop-up class in Cork City and I’m so excited to train in the spacious, cool and bustling Grafitti room at Marina Market. Since 2016, I have met so many people who “fill my cup” by practicing and sharing yoga and I look forward to continuing to do so.

The pop-up class promises to leave attendees feeling strong, centered and rejuvenated, as well as sweating, so bring your own mat, towel and water bottle.

It is also an open level practice, so beginners are welcome and encouraged to try it out.

Tickets for Pop-Up Power Yoga at Marina Market cost €10.50 here.
