Fall workouts with Floyd Lifton take place every Friday at 9 a.m. am via Zoom. The only equipment needed is your desktop computer, tablet or smartphone (video and audio), or even a landline (audio only), plus a chair (preferably without armrests; a folding chair is ideal).

THIS WEEK in DECEMBER

OBCOA will suspend its modified reopening of the in-person Monday exercise at 8:45 a.m. with the group, with instructors Patience Campbell and Marilyn Miller. The program will continue via ZOOM, keeping participation at a distance. Exercise with Bill White at 9 a.m. on Thursday morning will continue via ZOOM, keeping participation at a distance. It’s all one work in progress. Wish us luck! 🤞 More detailed information to follow regarding the Modified Opening!

Yoga with Martha Abbot on Zoom – To join Martha’s Senior Yoga Class on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 10:30 am, please email Martha at [email protected] for information on her process and style of yoga classes. PHASE II REOPENING OF OBCOA! Phase II began on Monday, November 1. The exercise will continue in Zoom format. Other programs will take place at OBCOA according to COVID-19 protocols. Knitting with Nancy Merjos, Tuesdays and Thursdays at 1 p.m. Coffee and conversations will take place each morning, starting at 9:00 a.m. We have a great Keurig for your use and enjoyment. We are in the process of finalizing a date and time for UFOs (Unfinished Objects) and for Bridge. Joseph Sollitto from Conversation will be back after January 1. Stay tuned, as our lineup will certainly be updated after the 55 Times publishes December 2021!

FUEL ASSISTANCE! If you are an Oak Bluffs senior who is having difficulty paying your heating bills, please contact OBCOA. We will be processing new fuel assistance requests for the 2021-2022 heating season, starting November 1, 2021, for seniors in Oak Bluffs. If you need help with your new demand for this heating season, we can help as well. Please contact Rose at 508-693-4509, ext. 3, for an appointment or additional information.

REGISTRATION INSURANCE OPEN! Registration is open from October 15 to December 7, 2021. If you wish to complete or modify your complementary insurance, now is the time to do it. For assistance or information, please contact Rose at 508-693-4509, ext. 3.

PEDICARE CLINIC! We hope to restart our Pedicare clinics with Greta at OBCOA. Clinics would be safe and appropriate to participate, with COVID-19 protocols in place. If you are interested in participating for the first time, or on the 20th, please contact Rose at 508-693-4509, ext. 3. We would need three to four participants for the clinic to take place.

CHRISTMAS IS AROUND THE CORNER! We accept requests to be placed on

our senior Christmas meal delivery list. Whether you reside in a retirement home, guest house, apartment, or private home, our dedicated volunteers will deliver a delicious meal to your address. Please contact Rose at 508-693-4509, ext. 3, to add to our list.

CAREER INFORMATION! HOME CARE ASSISTANCE TRAINING. If you are interested in joining the team of HEALTH PROFESSIONALS, consider joining the team of HOME CARE AID. You can make a FAT difference in the lives of others! The training is now available online via the mass.gov for approximately 37 hours of training.
