One21 Fitness was named Gym of the Year
A Southampton fitness expert who opened his municipal gym during lockdown has won a business award.
Despite uncertain times during the pandemic, Aaron Chadda, 28, remained fearless and pushed ahead with his plan to open his ‘gym with a difference’ in Waterloo Road, Freemantle.
Now Aaron’s achievement has been recognized as his company, One21 Fitness, scooped the award for Private Gym of the Year.

The fact that he was nominated for the South England Prestige Award came as a complete surprise to Aaron, whose name was suggested by one of his clients.
Speaking of his win, Aaron said: “I couldn’t believe it when I heard someone had been kind enough to propose to me.
“It is truly an honor to receive this distinction and it makes all the work I have done worthwhile.
“Although this is a great moment for One21 Fitness, I know there is still work to be done. There is always room for improvement and this award inspires me even more.”
Prior to starting One21 Fitness, Aaron was already a well-known figure in the city’s personal training scene and had previously worked at a Southampton gym for seven years.
He wanted to provide a private gym experience with individual training.
After visiting around 15 properties, he finally settled in a semi-derelict space on the ground floor of Waterloo Road.
He then spent six weeks converting his new HQ into a state-of-the-art fitness base.
Instead of monthly or annual fees, Aaron charges no membership fees and people only pay for their one-on-one personal training with him.
The Prestige Award judges praised Aaron’s dedication to the health and well-being of his clients.
