Shvaas Spa Brings Halotherapy Relaxation to Colombia | Business

A new spa opened in Columbia on Saturday offering a variety of ways to relax.

Shvaas Spa, pronounced (sha-va), opened at 1716 Main Street.

“I had this great idea during COVID,” said spa owner Khristina Lawler. “So it’s basically a business about disconnecting from the world, from social media, from technology and from charging. I always tell people ‘what happens when you don’t charge your phone laptop and your laptop? They die. “”

The salt therapy grotto (also known as halotherapy) at Shvaas Spa is the focal point of the spa for Lawler.

“The salt therapy was something that really hit home for us,” she said. “I grew up in South Florida and never had allergies, then I moved to South Carolina and sinus infections, allergies and everything, so salt therapy definitely helps, that’s the whole point is that there are other people dealing with allergies and we want to try to relieve some of that.”

Additional spa features include two infrared saunas, a hydromassage bed, three meditation gardens with zero-gravity massage chairs and noise canceling headphones, and guided meditations.

Lawler also has a small boutique area set up in the spa where guests can purchase salt lamps, crystals, natural beauty products, and accessories.

Opening hours are Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Tuesday and Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
