Start your family fitness journey with Physique Health Club

Manager of the local gym Deith Bridges is a man on a mission – a mission to help the people of Darlington get fit and stay fit.

As a manager at the Physique Health Club [] four years, Deith has wanted to make exercise accessible and affordable, with a family atmosphere, no matter the shape, size, ethnicity or ability of people, while creating an environment where no one feels out of place. comfortable or out of place.

“I am determined to create the best family club in town. There are a lot of gyms in Darlington, but I want to offer a different gym,” he enthuses. “I actively target low-confidence gym users in Darlington, to make them more confident and increase their level of fitness.”

One of the family ideas he had was to open a daycare. It specifically targets families in Darlington and, by making it easier for those who may be struggling to get child care, by providing a CRèchemaintained by experienced staff and checked by DBS.

“I think we’re also the only gym in Darlington that offers crèches for parents who want to get back to exercising,” Deith explained. “We try to provide a mental health avenue for parents who have no one to care for the children while they try to take time for themselves and get back to exercising. I also try to create a family club where all generations feel comfortable and confident to start their fitness journey.

As part of the Crèche package, Deith also offers members a dedicated PT crèche hour – Monday to Friday. These morning sessions are only ever for a small group of parents who use the crèche and will only pay £5 for a crèche place plus an hour with a personal trainer – other places will charge considerably more than this.

The crib []which occupies a site directly opposite the gymnasium, accommodates children from 12 weeks old while parents exercise.

Echo of the North:

Deith says, “I try to create a family atmosphere where everyone feels welcome, so the crèche is a big part of that. In the future, I would like to introduce a Young Physique Gym, where the children of our members, who have attended nursery school, can start training in the young physics gym – around the age of eight or ten – until until they are ready. to reach the main gymnasium. #Watch this place

As part of the crèche, there is also a Soft Play Zone and Party Zone This is accessible to the general public use. This is accessible on a walk-in basis, where we recommend that children up to 10 years old can enjoy themselves while parents have some time for a coffee and a catch-up. Deith would like this business to be supported by the residents of Darlington as due to the recent pandemic it has been difficult to get it up and running and it is a fantastic location as the soft play area provides fun and physical challenges to children, where they are always within sight of parents relaxing with a refreshment. Drinks and light meals are available throughout the day, prepared in the on-site kitchen, and the party area can be booked for private hire.

Echo of the North:

Within the club, as part of the overall membership plan, Deith and his team includes free personal training sessions at no additional cost – unlike most gyms where PT sessions come as an extra.

“When someone first joins the gym, they usually don’t know what they’re doing and may feel intimidated by traditional multinational gyms,” says Deith. “I want to make sure they are training properly when they start their fitness journey, so I will help them until they are comfortable with their own routine and develop their level of fitness. confidence to join classes – this is all part of our client care package – see our website for more information.
