Alex Lacazette has been wearing the captain’s armband for a few weeks – but what kind of leader would he say he is?

“When you start the game, from the first man on the pitch, even during the game, the signal to give you the armband is a good time,” he told Arsenal Media.

“I think I know a little about everyone and how they work and how I can deal with them. On the pitch I try to lead and show that the way we have to press, the intensity because the coach asks us [for this].

“But in the locker room I’m maybe more vocal and I want to bring the good vibes and the energy because some days we forget we’re playing an amazing sport, we’ve got an amazing job for a big club and obviously it’s amazing. It’s natural, it’s human to forget sometimes, so I just want to bring smiles and maybe some luck.

Laca is one – but who are the other potential leaders in the dressing room?

“There are future captains,” added Lacazette. “Gabriel, big Gabi, has presence, leadership at the back. I think when he gets more comfortable with English it will help him a lot.

“Ben White too, he might be calmer, but the way he plays he can be a good leader and maybe with the advantage he can develop.

“Sambi Lokonga, but he’s been a captain in the past so it’s not hard to say he can be a good captain. Kieran too because I think he’s also been a captain in the past for the national team a few times. You can see future captains or managers.
